Music Defines Society
Very reciently I have posted on my face book wall the quote "Music Defines Society" I really thought nothing of this actually I saw it on the tag of a shirt I had bought around Christmas although I got a few comments on it they made me think. A good friend of mine, we trained in the army for a little, he is big into music he also plays in a local band where he lives he said the exact oppisite of me, that society defines music, I can see where he is coming from but I disagree with him, no disrespect to those who agree. To me music is a huge part of my life and the music people listen to will affect they way they act, actually its been proven in studies. Reciently I think music has taken a turn for the worse, well at least main stream music. Myself I listen to a whole lot of music, and I mean A LOT of music my artists range from The Rat Pack to Green Day from Tegan and Sara to Thin Izzy. So its hard for me to understand how people can listen to one kind of music and dont give other music a try. But back to modern music taking a turn for the worse, Most artists that are big today cant really preform live they bank on sound filters and effects to make their music sound good, plus a lot of r&b artists are just redoing songs from our past artists, Most of the time they make the song a lot worse. I have been wishing that underground artists come to light and reshape the modern music world, I give props to the Black Keys they arrived on the show in the last year and they showed that true rock is still out there and it gave me hope, although I really didn't consider them underground. Well I know this post was really random but hey its my blog so deal with it
